On February 17th, on the initiative of FOOD-A-MENTAL, the first of a series of events took place in which the members of this association, founded in 2019 by top protagonists from the Luxembourg gastronomic scene, including the top star chefs, wanted to engage in a constructive exchange with like-minded people and officials, in the spirit of better understanding and a future intensified cooperation. The event at the restaurant La Pomme Cannelle in the Hotel Le Royal, to which Michel Lanners, director of the Hotel and Tourism School in Diekirch, was invited, kicked off the series.
The exchange was open and constructive, and a number of questions were addressed which had been on the minds of the chefs of the FOOD-A-MENTALs for a long time and which Director Lanners took up with great interest. Among the topics discussed were Dubai 2020, Horesca, Chef Masterclasses, participation of the Chefs in the final examinations of the hotel school, practical days for instructors and much more.
After two hours of controversial but constructive discussion, everyone agreed that this kind of exchange was a good start and that it should be continued in the future with other representatives from the sector.
