Cyril Molard from Ma Langue Sourit and René Mathieu from La Distillerie will host an exceptional four-hands dinner in a few weeks.
One of them has been a two-star chef in Luxembourg since 2018, invited to the most prestigious kitchens worldwide, serving as an outstanding ambassador for Luxembourg’s gastronomy.
The other, also a Michelin-starred chef, leads a restaurant named the world’s best plant-based table in 2020 and 2021, and holds the only Michelin Green Star in the Grand Duchy.
The Best of Grand Duchy Cuisine
Together, a Frenchman and a Belgian, they represent the pinnacle of Grand Duchy cuisine. Always full of projects, overflowing with energy and ideas, Cyril Molard and René Mathieu had long envisioned this four-hands collaboration, which will take place on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in Moutfort.
No Stress
Watching Cyril Molard and René Mathieu meet and chat, you wouldn’t guess the rigor and discipline they’ve needed in the kitchen to reach their current status. Instead, the idea of creating a meal together seems to relax them. They are comfortable, speak openly, laugh, and pose for photos like children. This isn’t their first four-hands dinner, but they’ve been discussing this one for over a year. Their busy schedules hadn’t allowed them to plan it until now. So, how will a classic chef and a plant-based chef work together? “Very well,” they joke.
A Harmonious Menu
Without revealing the six-course menu, which is still being finalized, they agree on telling us about the main course: “We will likely choose poultry, something mild, to harmonize with René’s plant-based recipes,” explains Cyril Molard, with René Mathieu nodding in agreement. “The vegetables will be as important and well-prepared as the main ingredients in this dinner.” Here, there won’t be “sides” but complete dishes that perfectly complement each other. To enhance this chef’s dinner, a wine pairing will be offered, “with or without alcohol.” “I have a very good non-alcoholic plum wine,” notes René Mathieu, who also creates various flavored waters to pair with his dishes.


From A to Z
“This dinner will include everything: aperitif, six-course menu, coffee, water, wine or non-alcoholic pairings,” details Cyril Molard. The chef from La Distillerie adds, “And a comic book ‘Guardians of the Earth’!” which he wrote with his colleague Mario Willems. The price for this exceptional meal, served both at noon and in the evening at the restaurant Ma Langue Sourit in Moutfort, is 320 euros. And reservations are expected to fill up quickly!
