As we’re fully immersed into Autumn, we thought we would (even if it is just mentally) transport you to the Mediterranean coast and a warmer weather by creating a list where you can eat authentic, homemade pasta!
Al Grappolo – 30 Rue Adolphe Fischer, L-1520 Luxembourg: Al Grappolo’s restaurant owner has the ambition to honour its region of origin: Abruzzo. His authentic Italian pasta will have you order another dish!
Chez Toni – Rue des Artisans, 3812 Schifflange: The restaurant, which has been established in Schifflange for over 50 years, has become a must-visit address in southern Luxembourg thanks to its fresh homemade pasta. They have also recently opened their own “pastificio” (pasta shop), which you can discover here.
OiO – Osteria con Cucina – 48 Mnt de Clausen, L-1343 Luxembourg: This restaurant has been designated ‘Mediterranean Restaurant of the Year 2022’ by Gault&Millau. Want to learn more? Read our article on the restaurant here.
Maestri della Pasta – Cloche d’Or or Kirchberg shopping centers: The brand has two restaurants, one in London and another in Luxembourg. The restaurant is a one-of-a-kind dining experience with a menu inspired by simple and honest cuisine.
Mani d’Oro – 243 Route d’Esch, L-1471 Luxembourg: Mani d’Oro creates homemade pasta with “Perciasacci” flour. Due to this traditional production process, the flour retains its aroma and nutrients, making it more nourishing, healthy, and digestible. Definitely worth a visit!
Nuddelfabrik – 23 Rue du Moulin, L-3857 Schifflange: Nuddelfabrik, which literally means “pasta factory” in Luxembourgish, produces their pasta from vigorously selected, high-quality raw materials such as durum wheat flour, local meat and fresh eggs. Their pasta is available in their physical as well as online shop!
Trattoria da Gino – 5 Rue Glesener, L-1631 Luxembourg: Opened in 2018, Trattoria da Gino offers various pasta, including veggie, vegan and gluten-free options. Our favourite is their pasta ‘cacio e pepe’, cooked in a succulent Pecorino cheese wheel!
Al Bacio – The famous Italian establishment which has a restaurant, a bistro and most recently a delicatessen offers excellent fresh pasta in Luxembourg City.
And of course, if you’re looking for a gastronomic experience, both the Mosconi and Fani restaurants offer sumptuous dishes made from fresh pasta.
Don’t forget that you can also buy fresh, homemade pasta in local markets around Luxembourg!
Did you know?
According to the International Pasta Organization (IPO), a whopping 16.9 million tons of pasta were produced in 2021, in the whole world. That same year, the country with the biggest pasta consumption is evidently Italy, followed by Tunisia and Venezuela!
